Treated domestic wastewater has been applied to an agricultural field through subsurface irrigation for three years. Groundwater levels and quality are monitored and modelled; the long-term fate of PFAS, pharmaceuticals and pesticides is still open. Low-cost water quality sensors and real-time control are tested here.
